1. Why is it sunny when it's snowing/raining?
2. Add highscores to keep players "interested".
3. What's with the mixture of different graphic types? If you're using 8bit style music, why not make all the graphics pixellated?
it wasn't quite done. there was going to be an online high score table and i may or may not have used different music. there was also an invincibility block.
no use wasting more time describing what could have been.
thanks for the review bud, i appreciate anything anyone has to say.
I never played the first game, but I really like this. It's such a good concept!! And a very clean interface. Well done! :)
o Pause button?
What's that song?
Who did the song for the title screen? The main riff at the start sounds the same as Papa Roach's Last Resort (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh2SV uX03h4), hehe.
Anyway, good game, quite like the style, some of the hittests need to made more accurate for when you are jumping on the robot's heads.
Keep it up! =]
I can see this developing into something good...
You definately need to develop the things you have mentioned in the description. I use leaderboards from armorbot.com so check those out if you wish.
This does need a lot of improvement. I liked the way the steering works and the wheel at the bottom.
Things to improve:
*Change the steering code so the wheel returns to centre when the left or right key isn't pressed.
*Do something about the grass, it's evil and annoying! lol. Look into walls, I know they are also evil but if you can get it working it would be better.
Keep it up!
I actually thought this game was really clever! One this was that I was really confused about the explanation, so perhaps try to make it clearer, maybe with a little MC with a demonstration in the Instructions section.
There wasn't much to keep me playing after a few goes, so try to make different modes or something.
I'm not sure if you already have this or not, but use checkpoints so that if the player gets to a certain level they can continue from that level (if you have used that already then sorry! I couldn't get past level 3 lol!)
Good, original game! Keep up the good work!
I really liked this game!
Two simple, "already done thousands of times before", games and put them together. It was just ingenious!
I see people are complaining about the difficult, but I though that that was what gave the game a challenge.
*(for the people who are complaining), I see that the level of difficulty increases over time, so let's say you can press a button at the start to skip to certain levels of difficulty straight away.
*Make the 'health' counter slightly more clear. I wasn't sure what actually happened when I missed a rocket or a fruit. Sometimes nothing happened :S
Hope that helps and keep up the great work and invent more great games of which I can come 4th place at :P
To add to this. You cann re-adjust yourself and pause the game. Pause is 'p'. Unpause is 'u', I didn't forget those.
A good starting point...
I quite liked this game. Nice music and nice font :P
Here's some advice on how to improve it:
*Add some kind of boosters so that when you click on the stage the coin will fly that way. Have three initial boosters for example and then say every 10 pegs you hit you get an extra booster to use.
*Add a proper online highscores system. Try www.armorbot.com
Hope that helps!
I quite liked this game...
Although it has been done before I quite enjoyed this game :)
Things I liked:
*The simple graphics (paddles and balls)
*I really liked the background for some reason
*The music wasn't too annoying
Well done :)
The good thing for you is in the next version i have different background music which will hopefully be less annoying!
Just a few improvements:
A menu button that takes you back to the game selection.
A line thickness chooser.
Lose deley from click to draw (no delay).
Try to make it more interesting and have things to do that will keep the player interested.
Other then that it was pretty cool ^.^
